Activism bio (charitable work)
Ted Danson is the President and co-founder of The American Oceans Campaign (AOC) . AOC focuses on the conservation and vitality of coastal waters, bays, wetlands, estuaries and deep oceans. This includes working to prevent oil drilling in Alaska's wilderness as well as promoting the use of renewable energy resources. In addition, AOC was largely responsible for the passage of the Safe Drinking Water Act. Ted Danson was awarded the Environmental Hero award by President Clinton and Vice President Gore at the National Ocean Conference in Monterey, California in 1998.
